Description

Anderson Family Run Funeral Directors are based in Whitby Village, Ellesmere Port. We are a family run funeral home. We are not associated with any other funeral directors in Ellesmere Port, Chester, Wirral or anywhere else, making our services professional and personal to every family we care for. Myself (Catherine Anderson) and my brother David are fully licensed, professional and dedicated funeral directors.

In a rapidly changing industry many family run funeral directors have been sold to large corporations and quite often some still maintain the old family name. Anderson’s remains 100% owned and managed by the Anderson family alone. We offer traditional values, professional services and an unwavering dedication to the calling of being a funeral director. The day to day running of Andersons is carried out by myself and David, making each part of our service in Ellesmere Port both genuinely bespoke and personal.

We believe it is our responsibility, as funeral directors, to offer suitable services to bereaved families and to advise families in the correct manner; the choices you make are our responsibility. Choice is important, there should be no regrets, but when the burden of cost for one of those choices falls on the bereaved, the accountability and sense of responsibility of your funeral director is of vital importance. We as your funeral directors accept responsibility for the decisions made by families at the most vulnerable of times, we will advise each and every step of the way.

Choosing a funeral director is a big decision. Please take the time to look through our website and read some of the testimonials from families we have looked after in the past. I invite you to call either myself or David and we will answer any questions you may have.

We are here to help in your time of need and you can be sure that when dealing with Andersons you are in the safe and caring hands.

We are members of SAIF, The National Society of Allied and Independent Funeral Directors. SAIF is a trade association whose members are all independent funeral directors. The funeral service they offer is not part of a national or international conglomerate or chain but is privately owned and managed. In fact, a large proportion of SAIF members’ funeral homes have been run by the same family for generations.

Independent funeral directors are known for their high standard of service and a caring, traditional approach to their local communities, 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year. By choosing a SAIF member when the need arises, you are assured of a trusted and caring professional who is dedicated to serving the needs of the community. SAIF Members must adhere to a strict Code of Practice and are subject to inspections from SAIF.

What is a Direct Cremation?

A Direct Cremation is an alternative to the traditional funeral. This involves the cremation of the deceased without a funeral service. A Direct Cremation is generally the most economic option because costs of the coffin, preparation of the body, funeral service and expensive transportation are not included. However, many people choose Direct Cremations for reasons other than expense, for example:

  • - Wanting to have a memorial at a different time to the cremation
  • - Expressed desire from the deceased to not have a ceremony
  • - Individuals with relatives who face big physical or geographical challenges in coming together for a ceremony

The prices quoted for Direct Cremations include:

  • All charges, meetings and paperwork for the cremation
  • Collection of deceased and care prior to cremation
  • A simple coffin and urn for the ashes
  • Cremation fees and delivery of ashes to the family
