Durham Crematorium is based close to Durham city centre. The crematorium is owned by the city council and is available for non-religious funerals, as well as religious funerals of any faith. The on-site chapel has views over meadowlands and has seating for up to 100 people. There’s standing room for another 50 people if needed.
The memorial garden provides a quiet place to reflect and remember a loved one. There’s also the option to have a memorial vase or wall plaque placed in memory. As well as the main memorial garden, there is the Life and Soul Garden which won a Royal Horticultural Society RHS Silver Gilt Medal for its design.
