What We Do
Funeral Choice helps you select the right funeral at the right price for your needs. Families often lack access to clear information on their funeral options, only consult their nearest funeral director and end up paying more than is necessary. With Funeral Choice you can directly compare the services and prices of different Funeral Directors in your area.
At Funeral Choice we do our best to bring transparency to the costs of a funeral. We give you the information you need to prepare for your discussion with a funeral director. You can ask the right questions, see what you are getting and how much you are paying for it.
What Pricing Do We Display?
To provide a comparable starting point, Funeral Choice displays Funeral Director fees for a simple funeral. This includes:
- Funeral Director fees for meetings, paperwork and running the funeral
- Collection of deceased and care prior to funeral
- Hearse or appropriate vehicle for transport to the funeral
- Basic coffin
The Funeral Director fees quoted do not include third party costs (often called disbursements). The Funeral Director will guide you through your options. These costs are:
- Cremation or burial fees
- Medical certificate for cremation
- Clergy or officiant fee for conducting the ceremony
In addition to the disbursements you may want to discuss optional costs with your Funeral Director – these could include:
- Funeral flowers
- Memorial (venue hire, catering etc)
- Memorial headstone
- Orders of service
How We Got Started
We began as a family company on the Isle of Wight. Following a death in the family we were surprised by how little information there was on funeral costs nationally. We found the cost of funerals hard to understand, and saw that families were often paying more than they needed as it was virtually impossible to compare one funeral director with another. Clearly there was a need for a price comparison site and so Funeral Choice was born.
